HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Clutch disk type? Empty Clutch disk type?

Wich type of a clutch disk do you guys use?

I bought my conversion kit from Greg Sloan (and haven't received all yet, 14months after payment was sent). I'm starting to work on ym car and get some informations about this project.

About the clutch... Do you use standard ls1 clutch pressure plate? And wich type of clutch disk?

I was about to open my own thread asking a similar thing. I'm not looking to thread-jack you, but it'll be less messy if we bundle our clutch questions in 1 spot for the gurus.

I got the RH clutch disc from aixgelo78, but don't have a pressure plate or flywheel to go with it. Not even sure (exactly) what the requirements are. Wiki says LS2/LS3/LS7 GM#12571611 or the Mcleod conversion. Both these options seem to be boku bucks.

I don't want to doubt you guys, or the wiki. I just want to make sure I can't spend less bucks. Can I use the stock GM P.Plate and Flywheel from an LS1/T56 fbody or vette with the RH clutch disc?

I am using a stage one Spec clutch kit that included the PP, disc and flywheel. They will sell the clutch disc by itself, without a warranty.
Ford or Mopar discs with 1" diameter 23 spline and the appropriate diameter for the flywheel, PP and bell housing will work. Xschop, has been using one like that as well as others.
Which ever you decide to use it is recommended to take measurements to see what size shim you may need behind the slave cylinder. The spec kit came with a shim and everything measured out within tolerance.

I am using a LS7 PP and flywheel, got it as a take off with surface rust for $75 shipped from LS1tech. then i got a really good deal on a RAM upgraded clutch disk that was the correct spline size/count from ebay brand new, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] it was 80 shipped roughly!!! And should take the power im hoping to make... Then im going to follow cfgioja and order the full boat lightweight setup... unless i hit the lottery and can get a multidisk setup...
