For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

jmg944t Build Empty jmg944t Build

Post  jmg944t Thu Apr 27, 2017 10:27 pm

It isn't really a build per se.  I bought the car with an LS2 installed.  It's a 1992 968, 5 speed 951 trans, 993 headlights, M030 brakes, sport leather seats, 997 wheels.  I am pleased with the purchase but now I am finding tons of minor things done really poorly.  So this "build" will be fixing dumb decisions.  Ultimately, it'll be be a widebodystreet legal monster.

It's now 4" wider than stock, in steel. 18x11s up front with 295/30, 315/30 in the rear on 12s.

I want to build a 968 as well. Just hard to find at a cheap price without being junk.

I paid $16.5k with the LS2 swap done. It felt like a fair deal.

jmg944t Build Empty widebody?

Post  ryan08 Thu Dec 16, 2021 12:10 pm

Where do you find metal wide body panels for the 968? Anything for the body of the 968 is rare indeed.

All are fiberglass. Only steel I have seen were hand made on one car.

I built it man. Cut the fenders and quarters, put them where I wanted and filled in the slots.
