HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

I've been thinking about selling it for awhile now but couldn't do so until I got it back. I want a 996 Turbo, I think the prices on them have bottomed out. If I don't buy one soon I won't be able to afford one the way the rest of the 911's are blowing up in value...

I can understand that; i have a growing list of cars i wish i had bought, all of which were at the time the prices had bottomed out. 996 GT3 in the high $40k low $50k range, very clean 993 for $28k, very clean 964 for $20k... every one of those i was trying to decide if i should sell the 951 or keep developing it lol.

I passed on a Henna Red '88 E30 M3 for $5700. It already had a rollbar, H&R/Bilsteins, Supersprint exhaust etc. Bought my first 951 instead. That car is easily worth $25k now.
Then I passed on a 996 GT3 for $45k. It had rollbar, Euro GT3 seats, harnesses, Tarret rear arms etc. Bought my current 951 instead. That car is easily worth $65k now.
Oh well. I've always wanted a 911 Turbo, this is the time to get one. I'm not so enthralled with the 996 turbo that I'm willing to accept any offer on the 948 that comes my way. I'm more than happy to keep it...

Yeah, I looked at a 996 GT3 last month, fully track prepped but with stock drivetrain. Awesome! Last of the non-PSM cars. So tempting. But I'm crazy over-invested in the 944-v8, stuck in it for the foreseeable future. That said, I catch and pass GT3s and twin-turbos every time out. Screw that junk...

I pass them too. It takes a well driven GT3 on Hoosiers to stay in front of me on crappy, worn NT01's...

I'd sell mine for the new Corvette Gran Sport... I wouldn't sell it for 25k though. You should ask more.

It seems many of us have tired of the project and prepared to move on to something far more modern and efficient. I do have to admit that it was lots of fun surprising others at the track

I turn Vipers into dead worms on the track after a heavy rain.
