HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

NEW HYBRID HOOD BADGES**FEELER**
Hey everybody,
I'm looking at getting a new hybrid hood badge produced due to the rarity of them and difficulty in production, I would like to get an idea of who would be interested. They would be around $100-$150 each and made to withstand the environments and not fall apart like the old ones. Also, I am considering putting different designations on them such as 968, 951, 944, 924..etc. Let me know what you guys think as a minimum order consists of 50 badges minimum therefore I need an idea of interest prior to production. If interest is high enough I can take pre orders and get these things going! Let me know! Below is an example of the old hybrid badge and what the new one will resemble.
If the photo doesn't work I'll attempt again later. Pics of the old ones are on the forum though.

Great! I hope to get everybody in! So we can get the price down low! The old ones were $125. I'd like to have a better quality on at a lower price.99sierra4x4 wrote:I am in!!!

I would be interested depending on the design. Would it be an exact replica of the old ones?

Yes it would. With the possibility of 944 being taken out or left in....thinking about removing it so everyone can get one instead of just the 944/951 swappers.kachunk wrote:I would be interested depending on the design. Would it be an exact replica of the old ones?

You know you can post pictures by clicking on the "HOST AN IMAGE" (3 Icons to the left of the YouTube" icon on the toolbars above.) Select the link that best represents the format, then copy and paste that link into the text editor [THIS AREA]. Your picture will appear when you save the post.

Re: NEW HYBRID HOOD BADGES**FEELER**
Hey guys....been a while. I was finishing my car up and haven't been on here in a while. This project kind of got put on hold due to lack of interest. I see I have a couple more folks interested so I will see if I can get the ball rolling again. Can everyone do me a favor and post if you are interested and how many you would like based on reasonable pricing and that is based on amount ordered. Couple options as well......pure Billet with no color and slightly less detail (waaayyy more durable than the one pictured) or ones like pictured with actual colored glass like the original Porsche emblems.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Re: NEW HYBRID HOOD BADGES**FEELER**
Thing is....we would have to do one or the other. The up front cost of creating the "template" piece including the 3D rendering effects the overall cost of the part. So, I say that to say this.....we can get one or the other or...I can can get both rolling but, the cost will be significant. My guess, upwards of around $200-$300 per emblem. I guess whichever model carries the most interest we can go ahead with. The Billet ones will be cheaper overall due to them being made within the US. The others will be made in the UK.

I would, personally, prefer the colored "stock" style.

Badges
Did this ever get going ? I would be interested in one, either one but would prefer the multi colored one, if they are not being made does anyone have the part files for fabrication ? I may be able to work out fabrication on my end. Depending on the fabrication times etc. I may be able to get a limited run made of the billet type, I would not have the capibility required for the muiti colored type. Please let me know if there any info available.
Thanks for any help,
Jim

Hood badges
I have one of the original Porsche/Corvette hood badges. It is commonly known that the enamel falls out of these badges because they were enameled after being chrome plated.
The enameling must be done first then chromed. I have epoxy coated two of these badges to prevent the falling out.
I have just refurbished an enameled british car badge the old chrome was stripped and re-chromed without damage to the enamel.
Whoever creates new badges should keep this in mind.

If you are still going to get these built I will be in for 1, and maybe 2 depending on how I decide to put them on my car. I'm in for sure for 1!!!!
