4 post lift

Hi all:
After the holidays I will be starting on a hobby garage that will house my 944T LS project.
I will be installing a 4 post lift, and wondered if any of you out there had one and what your experience has been.
I'm most interested in ground clearance issues as our cars are very low. (It was a nightmare getting my car on and off the car carrier when I bought it...)
Any comments are appreciated!

I would seriously consider a 2 post frame contact lift. Much easier to do any suspension, brake, drive train work. Plus its not drive on and they make lifts for cars that are extremely low.

I know, but this will be used for car storage also.
Also, I can't bend over like I used to, so positioning the arms on a 2 post would be about impossible for me.
They sell jack plates that allow you to work on the suspension brakes etc with a 4 post.
lastly, the 4 post is moveable and requires less of a concrete thickness.

I recently went through this decision and ended up with a 4 post lift. It did help that I found one being sold used by a fellow enthusiast so the cash spend was low.

Here's why I went with a 4 post vs a 2 post.
#1 Much better for storage purposes, which is what it will be mainly used for
#2 Much easier to get the car on the lift, just drive it on
#3 Don't need 6" of concrete, so no need to dig up, repour etc
#4 Works off household 110V, no need to wire in 220V
#5 Posts are smaller and have less of a footprint in my garage, less likely for wife/kid damage
#6 Easily (dis)assembled and movable
#7 You can buy a hydraulic bridge jack for ~$700 to lift the car up off the rails for wheels off work

So far I'm really happy with it. The 948 isn't my daily driver and ends up sitting a lot. With this lift it's tucked away and gives me much more room in my garage for other things and to work at my work bench.
