Porsche 944 transmission swap
Hi all, I am new, from Georgia. I am interested in make porsche 944 with Audi V8 engine (ABZ(1994-98) or AHC(98-01)). I'm not interested in Chevy's or other american car's engines, There is easy to buy Audi (Mercedes and BMW too) parts in my country. Can 2.5 non turbo's 163hp transmision handle 400NM(torque) ? I wont force transmission whole power of engine, I need this gearbox temporarily, until I buy Audi's 2.5TDI's six speed gearbox. Can anyone advice me?

Re: Porsche 944 transmission swap
If you keep the tires on the ground and don't abuse it, the gear box should be OK. If you're doing burn outs and skipping the wheels to give the trans a shock load, then the trans and probably the CV joints are going to break.
