For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

OK, I'll motivate you 928 guys...
This car was built 5-6 years ago by a friend of mine. Someone (RH) told him a Big Block would not fit under the hood...we proved them wrong. Yes, it's carbed, and the intake was heavily milled, but it was the smoothest carbed engine I've ever overrevved!
502 BB Chevy
Dart Aluminum heads
CompCams stick (don't recall specs)
8-point hand-built cage
Late C5 Wheels
Bilstein coilovers, front & rear
Weltmeister bars, front & rear
600 HP / 650 FT. Lbs.
Damned fast...

Yup...(5/6?) speed 928. And guess what else? RH BH adapter...AND...less than a year later, he was pulling the engine to replace, can ya guess? Yea...PILOT BEARING. Hmmm.
The wheels...17 x 9 & 18 x 10 Corvette C5 (1997-2004). The hubs were plug-welded and re-drilled for the GM bolt circle. The same end result can be had with concentric adapters...
"[PORH] favor"...

Did RH use needle pilot bearings for that 928 also?
I have some primo "vacation time share" swampland I need to hit them up for.
If I do a 928 later I want to do the 6.0l iron block. I read on "Gestapoville" that the Alloy blocks would not be a good balance for the 928....
Very good looking ride there.

He lathed an adapter for the roller bearing, but the BH adapter could have easily been to blame...don't recall the final verdict.
But, yes...@ the time RH used the needle bearing.
