HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: 944 Billet-Polyurethane Transmission Mounts....PM for Details
I have no slotting in my X member, its stock unmodified.xschop wrote:So are you saying you would need the V8 mount that sets the engine back or do you need the regular one because your trans X-member has been slotted?
so either I need a mount that puts the trannymount a few mm backwords, or slot it.
so yes, I guess I need the v8 mount as you call it

Re: 944 Billet-Polyurethane Transmission Mounts.. early 84'
xschop,
You were working on the early 2-piece mounts. Still have some.
I purchased an 86' (01-20-86) 944 turbo 5-spd with the cross member. The 84' doesn't have the removeable transmission cross member and now find myself without mounts.
Do I need to first find a pair of the transmission side mount plates for the early style 2-piece, and then the rubber mounts if there are no other options?
The car had an auto that is being swapped out and still have those but unless I was not seeing correctly the metal side plate didn't match anywhere I thought it would bolt to.
Any thoughts

I have 2 sets left of the EARLY 2-piece. I have only seen the drawings of the automatic side plates, but thought they could be modded to fit. I know that the Early MANUAL side plates will fit the late boxes and one of the holes is missing from the ddriver's side IIRC, but can be drilled easily.

944 trans mount
Rob,
Do you have any of the late 944 trans mounts available?
This is not being used on a V8 car, this is a 2.7 dedicated track car.

Hey Max, I am finishing a few Regular/Late mounts on the CNC and can ship one Mon or Tues, depending on the place where I get the hardware and shoulder bolts.... And I will let it go for the same $188 shipped to the US-48
I'll have 2 more left if anyone else is interested. Just Paypal $188 to...... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Yes, there is less than 1/16" side-to-side trans movement when locked down and still isolates vibes/noises. I'll have another batch done in 2-3 weeks as I am sold out ATM.

Hey Chad, looks great. How much could you move the trans side-to-side before the poly mounts?

I'm re-doing the rear suspension on my Turbo track car this winter. Can you PM me or make an announcement when you have more late model mounts available? Might as well plan/prepare for my swap now while I can!.
Thanks,

Re: 944 Billet-Polyurethane Transmission Mounts....PM for Details
Sorry for the late reply. I will have some done in 3-4 weeks and the late mounts will be a new 2-piece design where you can undo 2 bolts and have a factory setting or V-8 swap set-back setting. My billet hubs are finally up next on the CNC for programming. The pot-holes are mini-craters around here lol.

OT but do you still looking for some late struts to see if you can make them rebuildable with KYB, etc., inserts?

You can make late struts rebuild-able with the koni hacksaw method.
