HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Different strokes for different folks, i guess. I built this car because i didn't want a C5 like everyone and their grandmother.

Haha, when you can't beat 'em call 'em ugly.. Guess some ladies can't appreciate the 80s.
That or they didn't match their purses- typical corvette owners!

Re: LS1 members ATTENTION!!!
Jealousy brings out the ignorance in most...
Compare this:
1986 Porsche 948
Cost of Ownership (Initial Investment, converted) = ~$6-12K
Estimated (average) Retail = ~$10-14K
Weight = ~2800 lbs.
0-60 = ~4.5-5.0 seconds (Optimistic)
2009 Corvette Z06
Estimated (average) Retail = ~$48-53K average
Weight = ~3200 lbs.
0-60 = ~4.1 seconds
Are a few tenths of a second 0-60 worth 40 Grand?
After 23 years of R&D, GM is obviously trying to "up the market".
These guys are pissed about being spanked by a "Trailer Park Queen".
And we're using their engine to do so.
Tell ya watt (bright idea...), 'Vette guys...
See Jenny Craig about that 400 lbs., give me the $30K difference, and we'll go racing...
Evenly matched.
Nuttn dey kin do...but Kry.
My baby-Mamma luv it.

Re: LS1 members ATTENTION!!!
I like the C5Z except for the plastic cheap ass plastic interior and they are everywhere! Came close to buying one recently but after driving a couple they just don't have that "connected" feel of my 968 and the fit and finish is pretty weak. The C6Z is another story and when good used examples get in the mid 30's I might be a player. I would not trade my 968ls2 for any C5Z.

Re: LS1 members ATTENTION!!!
Why do they got to be hating so much?
You think they would be excited to have some new comp on the block.
I honestly think my Porvette is a good thing. I mean not everyone can go by the corvette that all these old ladies are driving anyway.
One of my intentions once I finish this is to crash the car shows that envolve corvettes, camaros, and all the other muscle cars. I want to see the looks on their faces.

Re: LS1 members ATTENTION!!!
I met a guy at a neighborhood party that has a C6 Z06. He was happy reciting the specs on his car. I tried to make it a two way conversation and told him my plans he suddenly had no interest in cars. You would think these are enthusiasts but some are posers. I think they are the same people who own a Harley, dress in all the logo attire and ride 200 miles a year back and forth to the bar to show it off.

Re: LS1 members ATTENTION!!!
I knew a few guys like that and thats all they care about is what others think about their ride. Give them any line about yours, and its the same old same old, "mine is new"
Dont do not appreciate the hard work, blood, and sweat we put into our hobbies. They are the ones that make me money. When something breaks they want a mech like me to fix it. Its all the same, no matter where you live.

Re: LS1 members ATTENTION!!!
There are lot of Corvette D-bags, but they're not all like that.
I stirred the pot over there a while back, and tried to get them posting in the 951 section of Rennlist:

Corvette guys I meet at the track are actually pretty cool, last time I was there (and my car died) they offered to help in any way they could, even when my car was a lowly n/a.
Those guys just seem to be a bunch of old douches.. I love how they go on about how cheap the 944 is, yet the corvette is a cheap plastic wannabe import Jr. supercar. And really, circlejerking about having higher benchracing numbers than a 20+ year old 4 cylinder turbo car with their brand new corvettes, says a lot about their insecurities, lol.

Re: LS1 members ATTENTION!!!
You get ANY specific group of enthusiasts together, and chances are, a certain percentage of them are going to be single-minded d-bags. It does make for fun reading though.
I choose to hang out with guys that have a little broader view. I've always "classified" myself as a hotrodder or gearhead. Not a GM guy, not a Corvette guy, not a Porsche guy. Although I'm partial to the above brands, I don't buy into the idea of "THE brand" being the be all-end all.
