HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hi all.

First off, I am really no mechanic, although I have fumbled my way around this car for over a decade and a half now.

After driving my 1987 951 LS1 for about 17 years, last Saturday my baby left me stranded for the second time. And unfortunately it's stranded about 2 hours from my home, so I had to leave it with a shop.

The worst part is that the first time it left me stranded was literally the day before, on Friday. That's when the serpentine belt broke, and when that broke it broke the heater core hoses. So, lots of steam pouring out from under the hood.

We replaced the serp belt on Friday, and on Saturday, the next day, while bombing along a very remote Central CA farm road, the engine simply quit running.

When turning the ignition to the start position, there were no sounds from the fuel pump. As I knew I was going to have to leave the car with a nearby shop (tiny podunk farming town, 2 hours from my home) I ordered a new fuel pump from Pelican and had it delivered to the shop.

The shop put it in and now tells me that there is no power to the fuel pump. And they say the relay is good.

I did check the #34 fuse for the fuel pump before I brought the car to the shop, but there is no fuse there.

Does that mean the fuel pump is running straight from the GM ECU? And that the ECU is bad?

Well, there is also now no power going to one of the ignition coils too, so it looks like the computer needs to be replaced.
