HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Renegade Hybrid Radiator Question... Empty Renegade Hybrid Radiator Question...

Post  87roadracer Tue Nov 21, 2023 11:25 am

I have the Renegade Hybrid radiator installed in my 1989 944 NA which by the way required some modifications to the lower and upper supports. It's about 1" too tall and is not a simple drop in. My question is the lower hose. The 2001 LS1 motor I have installed requires the lower hose to have an ID of
1 1/2" and the radiator has an ID of 1 1/4". Does one use an adaptive pipe in this case? Not sure if clamps can make up the difference in measurement. Thoughts on this?

Thanks all.

So I haven't even started on my LS swap yet, but I did just replace the radiator in my 72 C10 truck and had a similar issue where the new radiator had a smaller diameter. I was able to find a radiator hose reducer adapter from dayco at advance auto parts for about $12. Made up the difference in the hose and allowed the clamp to seal properly using the extra rubber.

Nothing is ever a simple drop in, no matter what they say. Having two different hose sizes is actually typical LS nonsense. This is what I used: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

i used a dual scirocco fan set up- i found by searching scirocco drag race dual fan.
it is the perfect size to match either a stock or Griffin fan, it is cheap, and comes with a nice gasket to seal @ radiator.
not sure exact CFM ratings but its better than stock 944 fans, better than the Lincoln fans, and offers way more room than the renegade.
its total thickness is 2.25"
