For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Shift Linkage Rubbing Against Gas Tank
I just installed a new 944 Turbo transmission into my NA, LS1 powered 944. Everything went smoothly until I went to connect the shifter and it wouldn't slide in. Then I noticed that the top of the shift linkage is rubbing on the heat shield of the gas tank. I have the shift linkage from the NA transmission and it looks identical. Maybe I reinstalled it wrong? If anyone has advice let me know! I will attach a pictures below.

Matthew...it is not clear from your photos but you may have attached the linkage incorrectly.
Take a look at the pics in my thread and see if they help you identify something different.

Re: Shift Linkage Rubbing Against Gas Tank
I agree with Raymond,
Looks as if you have the short arm you're pointing to in the second picture, leaning the wrong way. If you're looking the the trans from behind, that arm is pointing to the 2 o'clock position... it should be at 10 o'clock. That will pull the attached crosspiece (also attached to the top right of trans case) down and it should fit.
Good luck!

Re: Shift Linkage Rubbing Against Gas Tank
I figured it out, the small white piece in the middle of the linkage was installed upside down. Whoever I bought it from must have reversed it at some point. Thanks for the help all!
