HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hey guys its me again. Im at the point where i need to install the vss sensor and wheel, i am using the TPC kit, i been researching and have found mixed searchs on where the vss actually goes and gets mounted...driver side? Passenger side? What bolts to use? What orientation and distance it needs to be from the wheel?? Pretty much explain it to me like im a dummy. Cuz ive installed in one spot on the passeneger side but it was almost a whole inch off side to side away from the sproket wheel. So it was aligned with the wheel at all. Pics would be badass!

Drivers side, use a little bit of blue Loctite on the screws that go into the gearbox case. I mounted the sensor about 0.050" from the closest tooth on the gear, on my gearbox there is some radial runout on the CV flange. After you drive it a little, get back under the car and check that the sensor and gear are not rubbing, if so adjust as necessary.
Below are some links to older posts discussing the VSS sensor, perhaps they will be helpful.

mine is placed on the Driver side due to the Cooler loop on the passenger side ! the gap depends on ur Radial runout of the CV stub in the Differential ! i put a Dollars coin between the ring and Sensor ! a canadian dollar Smile

Awesome! Thanks for the help guys! Any idea what the thread size is for the bolt holes on the driver side of the trans where the vss mounts to?
