HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

This guy on pelican is selling these rims. I've asked numerous times for an asking price, and he just says "make an offer". I have NO freaking clue as to what they are worth.

4 rims, 17x10 and 17x8, late offset. They will come freshly polished and powdercoated.

What are they worth? Are they a decent rim for the car? I have no idea.

I would think around $400 if they have a good paint job on them. But if the paint on the rim is as bad as the car fender that they are on I would run. If you buy them and the paint is bad , It'll cost more to remove and replace the paint then a new set might cost. As far as fit,I don't remember what year your car is, I think most of those wheels will fit our cars no matter what year it just may require some shims.
Some one else might have a better Idea on the fit. I personal have Carrera GT4 wheels off of a 2002 (I believe) and my car is an 87' with 85.5' front suspension. The rear fit great. the front only takes a 1/4" shim.

some people piss me off. The guy REFUSED to give me an asking price or any info on manufacturer. He gave me sizes and pictures, that's it- then asked me to make him an offer. I told him $400 since they were freshly painted/polished, and he sent me a 1,000 word tirade about me lowballing him. Seriously, how was I supposed to know they were hartmann's and that they are 1 in whatever ultra rare and worth $2100??? If they were worth that, tell me outright so I didn't have to waste my or his time.

On those rims on ebay most of the time they usually sell them from bout $800 to $1200 usually. Reason I know this I spent months diligantly searching for rims on ebay and that's what they usually ran (without any fresh paint, Just rims) I finally found a deal for $400 and bought them up quick like.
Check you local craigslist I see them for sale every so often and usual cost between $400 to $1200 with or wihout tires as well at times. Good luck and hope you find what your looking for and get that deal alo.
