For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

A vg30dett? Thats a crazy setup, two compleltely seperate intake systems from filter to manifold. I dont know how wide the actually engine is with the twins on it is, i know the car is pretty wide itself. It would be a neat setup, routing the exhaust would probrably be the hardest part of it.
Some one is already working on th rb20 install.

I highly recommend staying away from such a swap. That motor barely fits in the 300zx as is, so I doubt it would be worth the effort stuffing it into a 944. That motor is also a nightmare on maintenance and I literally told people that I would not work on them after dealing with a friend's 300zx 2+2 (non turbo) head gasket job. The twin turbo is even worse to deal with.

I had two 300Z's one a NA and the other a TT. On the TT everything was tightly packaged with absolutely no room to spare and it was fairly wide with the stock turbo placement. I don't think you could get the steering shaft to work without multiple U-joints. If you have engine dims someone could tell you if it is possible.
IMO, a better swap would be a LS in the 300. A guy here did a fantastic job on one. I loved the interior in my TT and it wasn't a bad handler once accustomed to the four wheel steering.
