HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: 1uzfe....another option
Hey Guys, what is the factory clutch MC outlet size again? I need to mate it to the 28" -4an line to send to Jarmin.

Re: 1uzfe....another option
Bump....Anyone know what fitting is needed to go from a -4an line to the FACTORY Clutch MC. Looked everywhere here....
The Russell t56 TOB inlet fitting will be needed on this adapter as the 1uz BH will need 2ea. 1/2" dia. holes drilled in it depending on right hand drive car or Yankee style, I added the extra TOB clocking position setscrews....

Re: 1uzfe....another option
gees it looks massive in the picture with the hand in it...on the rear where it mounts to the torque tube i was thinking it would have been square for some reason the same as the torque tube end/bolting pattern...looks great top workmanship...

Re: 1uzfe....another option
Thanks spence, that's the ticket. The MR2 clutch that Jarmin will use utilizes a 5/8" Clutch MC, so the 944 3/4" should do just fine.
It weighs 4.7 Lbs and is at least 5x stronger than the cast 1uz BH
I was originally going to make the TT interface square, but lightened it and made it adaptable to a 928 extension flange. The 928 version will weight a couple more LBs

Beario, the same X-member drop mod will make more clearance on the 1uz swap. Also extra 1/2" setback from trans mounts can be achieved for more hood clearance.....

Re: 1uzfe....another option
hi rob i extended the steering shaft today,as you say it did not need much at all,i actually sleeved it with a piece of anti roll bar i had cut up...and welded it at both ends...although i would like a one piece one...have emailed but, what other parts are needed when using your 3/4 drop kit...

Re: 1uzfe....another option
Just the shaft extension and the 3/4" spacers which you can get locally or stack washers. The 3/4" X-member control arm bolt hole relocation is it. Whatever mounts you have will need to be clearanced at the bolt/nut that attaches to the Xmember botton. I had a 3/8" thick nut clear on all the ones I've done after trimming the threading all the way down to the nut.

Re: 1uzfe....another option
Bought a 5.8efi. I think I'm going to get rid of it and try a 5m or something similar, but I'm not 100% sure on how to go about it. Would it be easier to remove the trans axle and use the other cars drive train? Or could I get an adapter plate fairly cheap?

Re: 1uzfe....another option
I only have 3 adapter plates left and one's mine. I'll ship one for $350 US-48....$400 over the pond.
Keep the 5.8

Re: 1uzfe....another option
I like the 5.8 but I'm worried about space. I think I read somewhere that you have to cut into the front strut towers and I'm not so sure I like that. Also how would I go about moving the shaft from the steering wheel? I don't think I can leave it there and wrestle that 351 efi in there? Also....let me see how much of a pain it would be I maybe in the market for one of those plates

Also, after I get the motor out of the 77 924 i would be willing to let anyone who wants it have it so long as they come get it or pay shipping fees.

Re: 1uzfe....another option
Its the 4 cylinder na. The ony thing that's no good is the head. Bottom end and fuel system worked fine. But I couldnt come up with a head for a reasonable price....so V8 it is.

Hey Beario, what clutch disc did you settle on for the swap? There is another UK gentleman going with a 1uz. Thanks.

Dinsdale is using the Heavy duty ACT pressure on his V12 using the same 1uz modded flywheel. It will hold over 400 HP according to Brandon at Toyota V8 swap dotcom.

I have one last one. I expect more requests when Paul finishes his conversion. At his pace it will be like next week. I signed on to the PorscheUK site to watch his progress.
