New Oil Pan Option
I haven't totally confirmed this, but I have started cutting on it already, so I am committed at this point...
Anyway, it seems the Summit economy oil pan for LS engines is a direct copy of the Moroso 20140. I have it and measured it according to the drawing here, and it seems the same. It's a bit cheaper at $160, and the pickup from Summit is $40 I think. Link is below for the pan and pickup.
Just like the Moroso pan, it uses -10AN lines for the oil filter. A cheap option for a remote filter mount is to look at VW buggy remote filter mounts. I can't remember where I read that, but it seems these filter mounts are relatively cheap, and of decent quality.

I will let you know if it works once I get the mounts from TPC.

Re: New Oil Pan Option
I looks a lot like the SpeedMaster pan I have, although it looks like the pickup may be better quality.
My impressions of the SpeedMaster pan are here:
