HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Is Renegade respectable?
RH got some ink in Grassroots Motorsports. There's a discussion going on over there. RH chimed in, but didn't really address the worst things they've done to the community. Are they still the same company or what? Here's the discussion:

It's been 6 years since I've used them, not sure if they are the same company or not. My issue was it was VERY easy to get someone on the phone for questions when researching the conversion kit, but AFTER I gave them my credit card I called 2 more times and did NOT have any of my calls returned and when I said I'll just hold for someone a very angry/irritated Scott came on the phone and explained how buys he was - basically telling me as a customer that what he was doing there was far more important to him than my needs as a customer that he told could call anytime with questions regarding the swap (before any credit card info was given of course). The directions he provided for the swap were a joke and a very BASIC outline of the procedure. On the other hand -most- of the parts were there and worked well, aside from the total lack of any power brake option and horrible recommendations for pilot bearings (that destroy the drive shaft tip) everything else was ok.

Re: Is Renegade respectable?
i would say they are, for one they lied. they didnt "shut down" the forum, they just took everyone out that was against them buying the site. ex. i have a friend post alot of information and the pulled his name but kept the info as their. they told us he was rude when all he did was post info bout parts.
i personally hate rg and will burn their **** before i let them hurt another 944 v8 member, very shady company

Silly question. Why don't you just deal with Eric aka Admin aka Texas performance concept. He is a stand up guy who will go above and beyond for you pre and post sales.

Re: Is Renegade respectable?
I don't have much left to buy (headers mainly). None of my stuff came from RH, and non will, NO WAY! I'm basically making sure I'm not out of touch with the evil that is RH. He's over there on GRM making like everything is great and I call B.S. The GRM guy says he had a favorable experience while at the facility and he had positive feedback from Brock Yates.
Well, my point is, just because they can put on a good show for the media for a few hours and a multi-million dollar racer means nothing to me. There are so many folks on here and elsewhere that were burned it irritates me to see these guys getting good press in a respected magazine. I spoke up on the GRM forum, and a few others did too.
If I have to buy anything else, I will buy from these folks here for sure. I'm trying REAL HARD to get this car done for under $2K so I can enter it in the GRM challenge.

Nope you didn't. I had a brain fart. The link was about a 911, I thought you were saying I was doing a 911.

Re: Is Renegade respectable?
well, I have a set of shorti headers that I tried to modify and failed(you need to finish modifying the driver's side). If you are interested, Ill sell it to you for a reasonable price(100 plus shipping) and part of the proceeds will go support this site.

I'm interested...but broke right now. I'll shoot you a PM as soon as I can thought, that's a good deal. When you said you "failed" what does that mean? Are these salvagable?

I dealt with RH for a clutch plate and headers. Pleased with the experience.

Re: Is Renegade respectable?
Good luck Dawg.
My experience is pretty limited with RH, I have called them several times over the past 9 months or so, mostly regarding my cooling issues, and have had varying levels of satisfaction, but never had what I would call a bad experience.
The last time I called I spoke with Scott (I think that was his name) and with no expectations of a sale he took a lot of time with me and even went out to the shop and took bunch of pics of various radiator installations and emailed them to me.
So maybe things really have changed over there.

Re: Is Renegade respectable?
i personally know scott. he has his moments as we all do. he took the business over about 6-7 yrs ago and he struggled with it in the early stages, financially and stress wise. all in all tho he is a good guy. i go to the sema show almost every yr and he always makes time for me and my crew, he takes time out of his busy day to come pick us up in his personal truck and take us around vegas to dinner and our hotel. i think he is a good guy. i have heard some of the stories and im sure some of them are true and some of them are not. but he has never given me any trouble. i have a rh 911 ls kit for my g5052 rs america project and it is a well put together kit. it is quality build although he sources alot of it out. the flywheel and adapter is straight from kennedy. i have also purchased and installed a rh 911 ls kit for a 84 911. anyhow this is my .02

Re: Is Renegade respectable?
Well, there hasn't been any activity on this thread for a couple of years!
Just wondering what current feedback is.
I was in Vegas on business a month ago, decided to drop in and see this operation.
No 944s in the shop, but several other Porsche conversions.
I learned a lot from Scott as he gave me the tour, but he never followed up with a promised email for some specific pricing on the things we discussed.
Makes me wonder, as it's been a while since I was there and still no response...
I will be in DFW next month and will definitely stop by TPC.
