HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: New convert under way
So how are the kook headers working? Anyone put them on after having other manifolds? If so did you notice an increase in power/torque? I remember reading that they added a good 50 to 70 HP. I have the manifolds form TPC and i am concidering changing to the long tube units.

Re: New convert under way
I have used the kooks headers on a few of these now. They definitely make more power than the manifolds. One car that we dyno tuned with a stock LS1 made 310hp at the wheels. Another with the kooks made 345hp.

Re: New convert under way
Thank you. So it looks like there is a benefit to these headers. Now what about adding a 102 throttle body. I have the Fast 102 intake. Anyone have this set up? Any difference?

Re: New convert under way
You are using a crate LS3? If so, the Fast intake and 102 throttle body likely won't give you much improvement over the stock LS3 stuff. You would gain some hp but lose some low end torque. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as the car is light and will be stupid fast anyway.

Re: New convert under way
I have the 480 hp LS3. Started as the 430 then did the gm hot cam springs etc. When I did the cam I did a lot of research. All reviews started with 430 hp and headers. All did a proper tune to stock 430. On average all tuned 430 to 490 to 493. Then cam change. I figure with the tubes and a good tune I should be around the 530 hp plus or minus. Re views were by hot rod mag and car and track.

Dyno Graph Cam Test Stock Ls311/14
The stock camshaft offered a perfect idle, good power, and plenty of P-V. Now it was time to step things up with the other cams.

Re: New convert under way
I'm building an LS2 for my Saab 97x Aero. My goal is 500hp flywheel. After a lot of research and talking to my tuners, I am going to use the LS9 cam.
Duration @ .050" Lift( Deg): Intake: 211 / Exhaust: 230
Maximum Lift (in) W/ 1.7 Rocker: Intake: .562 / Exhaust: .562
Lobe Centerline ( deg): 122.5
My tuner said he has installed this cam in several LS motors and it produces a lot of HP and TQ. Even though it's designed for the supercharged engines, it works amazingly well. It's my daily driver, so I didn't want a lopey idle.

I have some rough pics of first mock up. My body guy figures it will work. There will be a bunch of mods for the rear fenders but they will fit..
