HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

kevin924kevin wrote:Ok people, please chime in on a rad. I checked with Ron Davis and he wants 1600.00 and change with shroud and fans. This seems a little out there. I have to be able to keep 500 plus HP cool in the city driving and also for a bit of auto cross. There appears to be a bunch of rads made in the US that will fit our applications. Anyone with these units would be appreciated.
Check with Kent at TPC. He has billet radiators in stock

I've used TPC's radiator kits on different cars. They work very well. Has a shroud and 2 electric fans with the kit.

Well got some work done this weekend. Motor down engine mounts off and ready for a little adjustment. Cross member out and modified as needed. I did a few changes to my rack mount and that is done and painted. Slow and steady.

Should have adjusted mounts back before the weekend, and my manifolds are in route and are to land Friday as well. Then its put it all back together and cross the old fingers.

Re: New convert under way
Happy days. I picked up my altered motor mounts. This will now slide the entire drive line forward 5/8". this will help with my BMW Hydro boost unit. This will also set my axles in a better alignment to the trailing arms & the shifter location. One more thing done.

Just a look from the bottom. So the way it sits right now no cross member spacer needed. I have clocked the unit right from 12 to 2 plus or minus. My bowl was 7 % I have set this at 10 kind of spit the difference from 12 % plus or minus. I am hoping to not have to drop the x member. The ls is now 5/ in forward. New shims in. The hole unit can go ahead a bit more just in the mounts on the block and a little loving were is bolts at the x member.

Shim in the mount they need just a hint of fine toning then I will level the motor just out a hair. May just leave it. Forward hoe. Getting so close to be able to final weld everything in place.

The urethane bushings are very stiff. You will probably get some chassis flex, but it won't be the mounts.
I've had the valve cover this close before and not ever touch.

Re: New convert under way
Picked up the TPC manifolds today. They are cute units. The fit looks fantastic. Lots of room between them and the frame rails. I will post a few pics tonight. There not headers, but they will breathe better than the stock manifolds. Now need the rad and few odds and ends and can really start to think about firing this unit up. So look forward to that day.

Re: New convert under way
I will get the pics sorted out. It looks like the plug wires at the front on both sides touch the manifolds. I will most likely have to put a small dent in the drivers side main tube for the steering shaft.. The plugs wires are the biggest concern.

You need to let Kent know about this. He needs to make changes if they aren't right.
