HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hi guys,

Trying to figure out what this wire goes to- originates under dash towards center console.

Green black and blue wires with spade connectors on one end. Having trouble tracing all the way back.

Early 944 under dash wire identification help Empty EARLY 944 UNDER DASH WIRE IDENTIFICATION HELP

I don't have a wiring diagram for the early (square dash) 944s, but the only things on the console should be the roof switch, fog light switch, and rear wiper switch. The roof switch uses about six wires, the fog light uses four wires (I think), and I believe the rear wiper switch uses three wires. Without a wiring diagram for the 82 to early 85, I can't be sure. If I had to guess about a three wire harness going to the console with no place to connect, I would probably guess it goes to a rear wiper switch that might not be there because the car in question didn't have a rear wiper. Just guessing.

Those wires go to rear wiper or the power mirror switch on the center console. If you pull your ashtray out you will be able to see which switch they belong to.
