HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

A/C high pressure switch Empty A/C high pressure switch

Post  ROGUE S2 Fri Jun 29, 2012 3:01 pm

Time to get my ac going again. Last summer it worked ok,but I noticed on drive longer than. 45 min it seemed not.to be cooling that well. When my car first hit the road all I used on the ac system was the low pressure switch. I think the camaro ac system uses high and low switches. I need guru help! Should I install a high pressure switch and wire it to what the ac relay. I am using the porsche set up with the ls1 ac compressor.

A/C high pressure switch Empty AC QUESTION

Post  fliermike45 Fri Jun 29, 2012 4:48 pm

First a question, are you controlling the compressor clutch with the PCM?
If so I believe you need high and low pressure switches connected to the PCM.
Please ask another GURU about this.

If you are controlling the compressor clutch with the Porsche AC dash switch then the Porsche high and low pressure switches on the receiver/drier will take care of the pressures.

BUT if this is the case you must modify the internal valve inside the F body compressor to convert it from a variable pressure compressor to a fixed pressure compressor to be compatible with the Porsche system. I believe the compressor shuts down if you don't do this. You also need relay(s) to control the cooling fans when the clutch engages.

If you email me at flier1998@yahoo.com I will send you the details on how to do this modification.
