HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

I attempted to add an album through the Admin panel...no luck. Also, I haven't found a theme @ Forumotion.com that offers additional albums. The phpbb.com themes are the only close alternatives, but they charge $6-up / month to host the forum...
I'm looking at .css scripts now...if I find something I'll let ya know.

The QT BH-Is the depth right?
ffmedic,
Did you verify the depth when you installed your QTI BH?
jhelgesen?
Is everything cool w/ the RM-6033?
It seemed to have been forgotten along the way, and I was curious as to why.

Ok I am confused is this post from Ross at QT or ?, as far as the RM-6033 (what is that), I did finally get it in the car without the flywheel and with the backing plate that comes with the QT BH and so far from what I can see it all seems to fit very nicely right into the bearing that goes into the back of the crankshaft on the engine (whatever that bearing is called ). Hard to get pics of it because it pretty damn tight in their, but I will try .
Been sidetracked on the project my ranger blew the transmission, and I went ahead and pulled the engine while I was at it to replace the oil pump and timing chain (120k figured might as well do it now)

Re: QT Bellhousing
Oh sorry...
And, thanks Dave.
I posted The QuickTime info in case we needed any further contact with Ross. jhelgesen has his car up for sale, so I was also asking him about his BH. Just following up a little, that's all. John's car is running (?)...
I think Tetzuoe has the QT also...
Bueller, Bueller...

Re: QT Bellhousing
Still haven't answered my question though what's the RM-6033?
Also just a fyi as well looks like with the backplate for the QT BH being added (it's like 2/8 of an inch something like that) it pushes the engine up that much as well when I put the engine in with it , you can tell things are abit tight with the motor mounts as well which should be an easy fix either leave it and it will go in ,
or because of the engine mounts I got you had to drill the original motor mount holes abit bigger ( forget the size) just basically enlarge the holes the motor mounts go into the cross member towards the front ( if you get what I mean by doing that) which is what I will be doing as well.

Re: QT Bellhousing
The RM-6033 or QTI-RM-6033 is the part number of the bellhousing made by quicktime bellhousings that mates any chevy engine to the the porsche 944 torque tubes.

Just wondering if the "alignment" issue with the pins you had to fill and relocate was addressed. If so, fixin to order mine...

I believe all is good, Someone else that I sent that direction has called and spoken directly to Ross, He said it was good and had sold 20 or so to BFR....
Re: QT Bellhousing
Yep all is good , I just posted what I had and did , the holes should be drilled right now on the new BH.RUF944V8 wrote:Just wondering if the "alignment" issue with the pins you had to fill and relocate was addressed. If so, fixin to order mine...
I was working with ross on the hole issues is why I posted the pics and such because he was also looking for the same answers as you all have and wanted to put out a good product.
And let me reiterate working with Ross ( owner of QT ) was a breath of fresh air and a pleasure, Now their is an owner and a company that gives a crap about it's product and it's customer's.
Again thanks too Ross and QT.

Re: QT Bellhousing
Will get inner in abit, the overall depth outside is 6 3/8 add 2/8 for the plate between the engine and the bh if your going to use that.xschop wrote:What is the block to inner face depth, and the block to outer face depth?
Anyone know what the max min depth you need on the Driveshaft tip into the bearing?(on the rear of the engine)

Re: QT Bellhousing
Hey Kelly, Welcome to the club. No one has posted response to my Aug 5th post about that critical measurement which comes into question on clutch engagement/disengagement issues that some other people with the QT BH ran into. That is not too critical, except you will have to re-pull the engine and do the proper shimming process. What is CRITICAL is Shaft Concentricity. The last thing I heard was the QT BH was clocked wrong when sent out. Makes me wonder.
What I do know for a fact is the C5 Bellhousing is lightweight, strong ( I believe GM used the new alloy flow process on it) and I Mic'd a total of 4ea of the Manual 2-piece BH and 2 of the 1-piece Auto BH's. All critical dim's were within 0.0015" of each other. I've measured other BH's from other projects and none of them had such close tolerances, I was impressed.
That fact, and it being lightweight and the Manual BH has a nifty clutch-inspection cover had me sold. So I machined an adapter plate that mounts the C5 slave right to it that mimicked the C5 Clutch system. When used with Stock Camaro/C5 Clutch components, no shimming required.
