HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Never got manual ... need help.
Hi guys ... I'm having trouble with parts to buy for the conversion.
I never got the manual from Sloan ( but got the oil pan recently, one year after I sent him payment) .
I'm not sure what to buy, cause I can't get parts borrowed here where I live to see if they might fit. I live in Iceland and there are few parts for C5 Corvettes to get here.
I have the adapter plate from Sloan. I'm planning to use original clutch on the engine. I have 2002 LS1. Isn't it "10,5 ?? I might be able to get used pressure plate and flywheel here so I would only have to buy from USA the disk. (I was gonna do this 100% but I went back to school for next two years and I don't want to let the car sit until I finish. So I'm gonna get cheaper used clutch to use in the beginning and later get new stronger (when the supercharger goes on .))
But I'm wondering about the Bell Housing... two piece BH is hard to get and expensive (very expensive to import from USA to Iceland). So would I be able to use BH from a C5 automatic ?
As I see here I think it would fit... but I would have to make holes for the hydraulic lines. I'm I right? And have to use aftermarket starter?
Please help me guys ... what's the best thing to do , cheap:(
sorry if me english is not 100% .

Your English is better than most in the state I live in. Don't worry about the manual, it is not a step by step. All of the information you need is here, do the search using advanced and hit the google icon next to the search box for better results, if you haven't figured that out already.
When did you get your oil pan from him? I still haven't had contact. Make sure you get it leak tested. I had two pans he sent that both leaked around the area that was modified.

Bellhousing
Hi, Sorry about your problems with sloan.
I used a stock LS1 flywheel/clutch and tried an automatic bellhousing, it would not fit. I had to buy a two piece manual bellhousing.
I would confirm what Arthropraxis says, there is a lot of info on this site, use the search engine first and if you can't find an answer then post your question. Everyone here is ready to help.
Good luck
PS Don't they build (or did) the Boxster in your country?

Nope. Been there, done that.

The C6 is the taller one.
Your only options are the C5 two piece (recommended), C5 one piece auto (requires smaller clutch and flywheel), or the Mcleod bellhousing (expensive). I recommend joining LS1tech.com, posting a couple times, and then start a "WTB: C5 Manual Bellhousing" thread. That's how I found mine.

Re: Never got manual ... need help.
Is the Mcleod bell housing the same as the Quicktime bell housing? If not, the Quicktime bell housing woud be another option. The Quicktime bell housing is a scatter shield and doesn't need the adapter plate. Price wise it comes out about the same as buying and adapter plate and a new C5 two piece bell housing.

Ah, yes. I meant the Quicktime.

Re: Never got manual ... need help.
If your willing to deal with the shipping I've still got my C5 auto bell housing that I'd sell you. It fit fine on my LT-1 with a 10.5" clutch and GM performance flywheel. I could do $70 plus whatever shipping comes out to be.
