HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

250 pound front springs and 28 mm torsion bars?
I was talking to the people at Paragon for a recommendation of spring rates on my car. I drive the car 95% on the street and I don't want to make it too stiff. I already have Koni adjustable shocks and a complete set of Powerflex bushings in the pivot points and sway bars. The car has stock 1988 Turbo sway bars on it now. I have not put the rear urethane bushings in yet so when I take the rear axle out, it would be time to change the torsion bars if it is necessary.
Paragon recommended 250# front springs and 28 mm rear torsion bars. The stock springs are 170# and 26 mm bars. I would also get the kit that enables you to adjust the ride height in the front. Is this a good setup to tighten up the handling some and reduce the squatting under accelleration? I don't want to stiffen the front up too much to make it understeer more.

Re: 250 pound front springs and 28 mm torsion bars?
Me personally, I get rid of the torsion bars completely and use coilovers in the rear. Much easier to adjust ride height and spring rates.
250lb is a decent front spring. 28mm solid torsion bar equates to about 254lbs
If your rear shocks are adjustable, you can dial in more compression to help with the squatting.

I ditched the torsion bars and did a full coil over front to back. I cant imagine trying to reclock the rear torsion bars for ride height. I did 250 in the front and believe a 450 in the rear and its not bad on the street.
