The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

1987 Porsche 944 S - Transaxle FOR SALE
started taking apart my 944S transaxle, only to realize i have no idea what i'm doing... and there was no way i could install a Torsen by myself...
So...
I am willing to let this thing go for $500, which my understanding, is basically the core charge for a rebuild.
Car only had 70k miles, running and driving, before i tore it down for the frame-up rebuild.
Need pictures? Shoot me an email.

I will deliver within (1) day drive of SAINT LOUIS MISSOURI, for an extra $100. Otherwise, you gotta come pick it up.
Thanks,
James

I just grenaded my NA transaxle on the autocross track @ Lymerock so I’m super interested. Did you disassemble it at all, or just remove from car?

sorry for the late response, busy week.
i took it about halfway apart. but i stopped right after splitting the case. i never removed anything important. all shafts, gears, shims are still in place.
all the parts that were removed, are bagged and tagged. you might need to spend an hour or two to get it back into functional condition. might go quicker with your old transaxle as an example to work from. or with someone who has experience with them.
how far away are you from STL?
unfortunately, i don't have the resources to ship this thing.

Re: 1987 Porsche 944 S - Transaxle FOR SALE
I’m pretty far- I totally understand not wanting to deal with shipping
I’m in upstate NY, but it still might make sense for me to do the road trip, or figure out way to have it picked up from you in STL.
Let me think about it/explore options and I’ll get back to you either way ASAP.
Thank you!

If you can find a way to get it crated and shipped, i could definitely bring it anywhere in STL you need me to.
I live in a very small town south of STL, so i don't have any local shipping offices or depots. It really sucks. I've been having trouble just shipping little items.
