HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

5th gen Camaro accesories
Has anyone used 5th gen Camaro ls3 accesories on a 944 ls swap? The AC and alt are low mount like the ls1 f body but I believe they are spaced further away from the block.

Re: 5th gen Camaro accesories
It depends on the Camaro engine/transmission option - Manual: LS3; or AT: L99.
Whenever I have absolutely nothing more important to do...I work on my project (and at a glacial speed, mind you) where I’m using a low mileage 6.2L from an Escalade with the L92 engine option…as in a variable valve timing (VVT) cam but without any of the Active Fuel Management (8 to 4 cylinder) solenoid activated hydraulic valve lifters hardware.
I topped it off with a LS3 intake and a FEAD swapped from a Camaro L99 engine (w/auto trans option, that is a 6.2L with both the VVT & AFM option), requiring GM engineering adding up front spacing for AT equipped Camaros to the basic LS3. My swapped L99 FEAD stuff, e.g. WP, PS pump, automatic belt tensioner, alternator etc, and also the lowered L99 throttle body, all appear to neatly clear the hood on my project. But truthfully I haven’t put the hood back on yet. (btw, most folks recommend a manual belt tensioner, and another btw, I'm using Smith Brother 'Oil Restrictor' push rods as these engines seem to send too much oil to the top end sometimes starving the bottom end.)
The L92 and/or Camaro L99 VVT/AFM solenoid is located behind the front cam cover adding ¾” to the length of an LS3 engine. As my original Escalade L92 engine came with the usual GM ‘truck’ Front Engine Accessory Drive (FEAD) including an extended crankshaft pulley/harmonic balancer, I’m assuming the L99 Camaro uses either the same or a very similar crank pulley as now all my accessory pulleys line up perfectly with the serpentine belt. And btw…I’m using the original ‘truck’ a/c compressor mount.
I’ve had the engine in & out several times and the next time I put it in with (headers & a mini starter) I’ll take pictures. Welcome & hope this helps.

Thank you for the response! I’m happy to hear someone has tried them and they seem to fit.
