Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

Ev conversion Empty Thoughts

Post  gamman Mon Sep 17, 2012 10:27 pm

Anyway, I have been thinking about this for a while now. Our race track closed for a few years until a new one opens up 5? Years. I will drive an ev one around until the track reopens.

Eric, you up for a challenge?

Ev conversion Empty Thoughts

Omg.
Costs are nuts.
I totally understand about trying to recover r+d but can someone who makes things (xchop), tell me what this stuff would cost or if you would make these things, what would you retail them for?

Someone take a look at other parts, namely ps adapters and brake pumps.

If you do an EV, get rid of the Torque tube and mount the motor mid-engine. You'll shave 50 lbs and have a track monster. You can make the plate from the 016 trans Tech drawing.....

Not Me, I don't plan on building one. Besides would be alot easier than the pic looks. There are only Two dowel pin locations to shaft center that are critical. My Next hybrid will be a High-reving DOHC V8 Very Happy

i have designed a ev 911 that will be capable of 150mph theoretically. 400hp 480tq electric motor. problem will be clutches that will hold up and still be street worthy. electric motor tq is completely different than gasoline engine tq. electric tq is instant and linear. anyhow... my .02
