HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: Could someone check my plans for wiring the fuse block?
For anyone that has used one of the fuse taps, how did you get the wire down below the fuse box?

I am going to put the relay/fuse block for the harness under the passenger foot well. I need that wire off of the fuse tap to go under the Porsche fuse box without breaking it's water tightness.

Just drill a small hole through one of the blank relay areas. Oh and I wouldn't recommend a fuse tap ever. It will only cause you problems down the road, Pull up the fuse block and find a good wire to get power from.

I am going to take it from the smaller of the two black and red wires behind the ignition switch. Thanks, for everyone's input.

Make sure to document exactly what you do for later reference. It is always a good idea to print out the page of the schematic [in your case the page that shows the ignition switch] and draw in the line you add.

The red/blk key-on wire from the keyswitch goes directly to the DRIVER"S side of fuse #36

Re: Could someone check my plans for wiring the fuse block?
I need to see which way is going to be easier to get to. On my back soldering in front of my face or while holding up the fuse box while trying to splice in a wire. Just in case anyone searches for this later, it is the smaller of the two black and red wires that you want.
Something else I have a question about. The DME gets a straight line of power directly from the battery. Since you won't be using the DME you could cut that wire and reuse it as constant power for the harness fuse box, right? It is too late for me, I already ran a new constant power wire. If that is correct it would make the wiring easier.

The easy way is that double fuse jumper that Spence posted. I've been running it for over 5,000 miles and ZERO problems.

If you get rid of the dme relay, you can attach the old coil wires together (green and black by the passenger side headlight). This will let you use green wire in the 14 pin connector as 12v switched

Where the old coil was. Attach the green and black wire together. This will then power the green wire in the 14 pin connector.

Remove the DME relay and attach the old coil wires together and you will get 12v switched at the green wire at the 14 pin connector.

You will need to add in two relays. One for 12v switched and one for fuel pump (pin 4 blk/grn).
You've got alot of reading to do and all your answers are here if you read & search.
