Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Looks great. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the wing, but each to his own.

Thanks man! Been at this point for some time, but little problems kept popping up. Yeah the wing MAY be a little over the top, but what the heck - Go large or go home; I always say

That's what it was all about anyhow - making something that would be fun to drive and turn if I was able to make people scratch their heads trying to figure out what it is, so much the better!!

Re: Legal . . . . and in full trim
Yeah - everything is done, just in time to put it away for the winter! Tires were rock hard so I can't make any nice chirping sounds! Now I need schedule some time with Herr Ziewes at the local German auto shop and get an alignment performed.
While I may be on the streets, I am far from finished - still have VSS/Tach issues that still need to be resolved, as well as the jury being out on not using the charcoal cannister and running a direct vent line to the tank. It sure is nice to be at this stage finally, though.
Now I'll go over the 87-944's house and help him get on the road!
Thanks for the support, guys!

The whole bodykit is from IFC Racing. It was a one-piece wrap around unit with the rear quarter panels

Re: Legal . . . . and in full trim
Having dealt with bodyits for my Neon, I would have to say that it was very good. I looked at the some of the photos on the site and was a little leary at first (I don't know who they used to model the widebody nose and header - those photos sucked), but it went very well. Very sturdy, and Mike (the owner) does everything to make sure things go right - I was disappointed that the tub kit didn't have templates that would have made my life easier when cutting sheetmetal, but all-in-all, it went well.

I like the two stripes on the side. Looks like war-paint. Flat Black is so cool.

Running the stock 944 (N/A) transmission. May upgrade in the near future! Tires are cold in the video, so I don't think I'll need to worry about chirping tires until spring!

I really like those GS stripes too. Glad you did them on your car, I'll probably add some flat black GS stripes to my car once she's done (right above the drivers wheel well). It'll keep them guessing.
How do you like the aerocatch latches? I saw them not too long ago and liked that you could lock them (too many curious people around here).

Didn't 944-LT1 have something like mine? All I know is that I didn't like the
rectangular ones. As for the latches, it's a must if you plan on not modding
your hood

I am trying to get a greyscale decal of the 944/LS1 Crest and place it under the stripes. As I said earlier, the Aerocatch latches are AWESOME! I have the locking ones, and highly recommend them
to anyone wanting to secure their engine compartments and keep the stock hood.
