HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself. I'm in Joplin, MO and I'm starting a Swap. A friend and I picked up a ragged out (I think 85 944) for &350 and a 2000 5.3 truck motor $250. So far we're starting to collect parts. It looks like we're going to build this car for around $1700. Its not going to be the fastest or the prettiest but it will be fun to drive. I'm going to be asking a lot of questions and I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you guys.
If this wasn't a budget build I would be using an all aluminum motor. I will start posting pictures once we get started.

I was reading the rules for the Grassroots, today after you called me, It looks like you can buy the QT bell housing and claim it to be a scatters shield and not have the cost go towards your budget. It's just a thought. Unless you have the C5 bell housing and can make your own adapter.

Eric
I have a line on a C5 bell housing. I also have a standard sbc bell housing to use if that falls thru.
I have considered the QT bell housing but the engine is stock and I can always upgrade if I bump up the horsepower.

No but I always wanted to go. I just watched and read about them in the magazine.

I remember talking to one of the guys that was in in it one year but can't remember. Suffering from CRS!
