HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

It should look cool in front of that Magnacharger.

Do you have any additional plans for your conversion?

Re: So this is where you all hang out now...
In 2010 I am promising my Son that I will paint the car all one color. We have the fiberglass hood (for blower clearance) and I have been neglecting to shine it up (I kinda like the "beater" image as I pull away from any serious competitor - it normally blows their minds).
But other than that I am going with a upgraded pilot bearing from this site, and maybe the reinforced firewall plate, and the reduced effort master cylinder for my manual Big Black front calipers and the 951 rears. So just minor updates.

Re: So this is where you all hang out now...
I think he had a RH hood that he raised to make it clear the Supercharger.
Re: So this is where you all hang out now...
Gene,
Our man is right. It was a RH hood that I modified. Of course it took for-ever to get, but it did finally show up - just for me to cut it up.
Here is a quick photo of what it would look like in yellow!

"....Finally! Laughing Great to see you here."
Thanks man. It has been a long time.
I had a bunch of stuff that got me busy and I had to work through some changes at my main biz, but Mr. Sloan dropped me a line and invited me to make an appearance. I envision that I will be uber-busy for near all of 2010 but I want to stop in here when I can and have fun with the group. Plus I really luv my 944V8 so this site will keep me focused on giving it some more attention.
Glad to be here.

Yup.
I know its crazy but I was really out-of-time in 2009. I wanted to win this NASA championship... And was leading the frey all year, but at 2/3 of the season I quite literally got sucker punched by another competitor. He then protested ME - and it got brutal. I left the sanctioning body and folded up the tent. I parked that racecar (fast car) and did not mess with cars much the rest of the season. But I did do a lot of biz & fam stuff and really felt good about it (hey, what-do-you know... I can get stuff done when I am not away racing!). Now because of that I have another chapter going and want to complete some goals before I would shift back into that hard-core personal car stuff again.

Thats great. Family is awesome.
So do you have 1/2" spacers between the xmember or is the hood because of the blower and engine height?

Well... The blower had an issue with the stock hood for sure:

so, m30 calipers on front (used to have wilwoods?)? What is under the tinfoil? I am about to roadrace a stock RH stock 944S, and have no idea what way I want to go for brakes. What is your opinion on the master?

Re: So this is where you all hang out now...
LOL, that tinfoil is actually heat wrap like you would cover a starter motor with. I felt that the master was just too close to the headers so I put that sock on it. Its the stock 944S master, and it works pretty well. But it does take a lot of force to activate the M030 and the 951 rears. Its fine for me, but I do want to improve that by looking into better options that I have seen here.
I did have the Wilwood bolt on 944 upgrade. I was going into a fast corner at Autobahn Raceway and went for the brakes. The Wilwoods clamped down on my aftermarket drilled N/A 944 rotors - and I broke them in half! (at about 120 MPH - with a passenger).

So I wanted bigger and stronger rotors from about there on out
I would road-race this car with my current set up without much concern.

When I order my Wilwoods, Travis there, told me not to run them with the crossed driled rotors because they get too hot and shatter like yours did.
Were you one of the ones he was talking about?

Bob,
I am going to be at Parade, but with the GT3. I will try to look you up though if I see you.
I am doing some details and then paint on my hybrid then you can plan on a ride with me. I fixed that brake issue we had last attempt as shown above, and several other betterments. There will be no further failures
