HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: Brand new ls3 build
Got most of these the small issues fixed and had a great summer thru fall 2022 with the car. Then.. of course, the altenator stopped charging. Replaced it, still not charging, new battery. Checked volts off the altenator, 13.8v, good. While running checked the battery and 12.8v, barely charging. The altenator hot wire goes to the gmpp fuse box terminal, then to the starter. From the starter another cable goes to the battery. Looks like the terminals on the starter heated up and got seriously corroded. So now I must remove the Y pipe to get to the starter, replace all the cable lugs. I re-used the 36 year old original battery hot cable like a moron. That was a mistake! Lol
Also managed to tear out power rack, put in a manual sport rack, had a new intermediate shaft custom made. Fits perfect, drives solid with a little bit more effort. Decided to keep the ps pump, pulled it and removed the vanes, shoved red n tacky inside, looped a short hose from in to out. And one more, built a new rear torsion setup with bling billet LR hangars, and installed the elephant poly bronze bushing kit. Got it 2" lower and will tweak the coilovers up a hair to take more weight with the torsion bars lowered. Just need to install that. It is done on the bench..

I might have missed it, but what WHP and Tq did you dyno? Also, what type of dyno?

Hi, it's a crate ls376 480 with the hotcam. Specs in link, just added custom exhaust, TPC headers, big air intake.

The tune in the e67 file is mostly stock but had to adjust the map to make slow speeds stop jerking from that cam. Get hp tuners, You can mailorder your file to PCM of NC. Do not waste your time at a shop, these folks are super experts and wayy cheaper.

Re: Brand new ls3 build
I had assumed it was a crate motor, thanks for the link.
I am still curious about the WHP and Tq, on a dyno....would give us a indication of drive train losses too.

.......
When I had the car on a dyno it was about stock hp in that link, a little less. $700 later on that shop tune. Not much better. Then spent $250 and fixed it myself with hp tuners and PCM of NC. I think tuning shops are way over rated, Paul Walker club of fools. Tune it yourself with remote help and then you know how forever.Plucky948 wrote:948 wrote:I might have missed it, but what WHP and Tq did you dyno? Also, what type of dyno?
