The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Rent a blind hole bearing puller from autozone/advance? Or you could try freezing/heating the bearing to get it to release from the adapter. If there is room you could try to cut the bearing careful not to cut the adapter, that should release pressure to get it out.

Re: Pilot bearing and adapter stuck... HELP!!!
Saw something where they filled up all of the open volume inside the donut hole of the bearing and adaptor with axle grease.
Then take a short length of a piece of broomstick or something that fits just inside the bearing, and hold it there so it makes a pretty good seal with the inside of the bearing such that the grease is sort of contained inside the bearing/adaptor. And then whale on the stick with a sledge.
Supposedly the hydraulic pressure from the grease getting pushed in by the stick will force the bearing out.
Supposedly!

LS1 has a freeze plug behind the bearing, so that method is not advisable. It did work on old style blocks. Blind hole puller slide hammer and it will come out.acorad wrote:Saw something where they filled up all of the open volume inside the donut hole of the bearing and adaptor with axle grease.

The bearing is seriously hardened steel. Wonder if a Dremel will go through it?
