HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Converting to lS2 cam
Hi Guys
I'm new to the forum ( 1st post) and am getting parts for the swap together. Got sweet deal on a LS2 cam, Texas speed 7.4 pushrods and new chain; its going into a 5.3. I need a front sensor cover and a 1x cam sprocket. I posted here because I figured that some of you went with a double roller chain and had the gear laying in the parts pile and maybe an extra cover. Thanks for any help

Re: Converting to lS2 cam
Hi Michael,
I don't have any of the parts you are looking for but I wanted to encourage you to look into other cam possibities. I put the ls3 cam in my 5.3 and it puts 328 hp on the ground. I think the ls2 cam will provide similar results. Not bad at all but these motors have quite a bit more potential. Now I'm in the process of putting a new cam in, not as much fun as when the motor is out of the car.

Re: Converting to lS2 cam
Hi Pat:
I saw that article when I was doing some LS research. The general plan is to get it up and running with the 5.3 and sort out the suspension and brakes at some track days and then possibly build an aluminum block engine with better parts if I decide it worth going back go back into competition. I was having withdrawal since I sold my race car and this project seems like a lot of bang for the buck even with the stock 5.3. I wasn't even going to change out the cam but then deal came up so I said what the heck for a few bucks I'll get a little more power out of it. I don't have any experience with the LS engines other than what I've read (mostly big blocks and BMW M20's) so its has a learning curve but I am getting a feeling for their potential. I see your in Fort Lauderdale, I'm in Coral springs. Perhaps at some point I can pick your brain regarding how you handled things with your build and what you would do differently. I can't PM yet; not enough posts.
Have a great day
