HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

VSS Sensor brackets and gears
I now have brand new VSS sensor brackets and gears for the 944 conversions. The Gear has 40 teeth just like the GM computer wants to see.

Re: VSS Sensor brackets and gears
How far does the sensor tip need to be from that wheel?
I'm thinking about readjusting mine as it is a tad more than 1/8" and the magnet wants to stick to it until the bracket is cranked down. If the sheet metal is too thin, it will bend it's way towards the wheel. But probably not on the thinner wheel you have there. As long as a magnet sticks to the wheel ridges (not the sides) then those have enough ferritic property to work.

Re: VSS Sensor brackets and gears
Yes they should work, but we all know what that will lead to. The magnet does stick to the teeth, but not as strong as I would like. AS far as the bracket bending, these should not have any problem like that, They are 1/8' thick and I can't bend them by hand. AS far as the gap setting, I have they as close as possible without any contact being made.
Re: VSS Sensor brackets and gears
Good job. Shoot me a PM on pricing. I want a spare set on hand for my next build.

Re: VSS Sensor brackets and gears
Has anyone installed a VSS on a tranny with an oil cooler?
I was going to put it towards the front of the trans but the oil cooler line is in my way. The only place I can see a possibility is where the fuel pump cover is above the oil cooler pump. I can cut a small section out of the cover to clear the VSS bracket.
