For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

My new project
I am new to this forum, but have been lurking and reading for a while. I posted in the Gen 1 forum, about a carbed conversion, but have since changed my mind.
I need your opinions on what I have:
I have an 89 S2 that I will be pulling the engine due to a broke valve spring. I dont want to drop another $1000 in it to fix it, so... I have a wrecked 98 silverado with a TBI 5.7. I know it is not the ideal engine, due to the height of the TBI, but what are your thoughts?
Thanks,
Shawn

Get one of the newer truck motors if Big Brother allows it in your state.

I would think you could put a LT1-style intake on it?

Would love to have a newer truck motor, but this one is free for the taking. It was my grandfathers truck and my dad will give me any part or all of it.
What about an adapter for the regular chevy bell housing? Everything I see is for the C5.

Re: My new project
The C5 BH will bolt up to ANY SBC. The 5.3 truck motor is nutty power and torque for the 944 if you can get ahold of one. Just about anything you can do to the LS1 can be done to the truck motors... The coil packs are easier to fit past the master cylinder and accessories are inexpensive.
