For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Anyone running aftermarket or improved cv axles?
Looking for some help.......
My car is eating CV axles so I'm looking for an aftermarket alternative.
I have a 1984 944 NA with the steel arms.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Anyone running aftermarket or improved cv axles?
Trans mounts have been changed and the car sits about an inch to an inch and a half lower than stock.
My car has the steel trailing arms and the CV axles I'm running are stalk one and are shorter than the ones found in later 944 models with the aluminum trailing arms.

suggestions for your cv axle issue
would highly recommend replacements by Bob from hotrodz of dallas on the forum here, he sells shafts that dwarf even the ones that i had custom made from i believe 4340 chromoly by xschop many years ago.
doing the diy of the solid mount is a good thing to do that many have sworn by, i jumped on an offer that xschop had years ago for a solid billet mount with polyurethane bushings and then combined that with the reinforcement plate from TPC since i have next to zero flex now. Redid my cv boots and bolts with allens instead of triple squares and nord-lock washers and all is well.
perhaps some or all of those recommendations will help?
