For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

To buy or not
Considering LT1 Swap 86 951 turn key purchase. Older swap 2007 RH (97 LT1) 88k heads/cam/seals at 85k. 16k miles on build. Have been searching for LS. Lots prior experience with 951 owned 4 past 20+ yrs all turbos all bolt ons. No plans for big horsepower. Will I be disappointed ??? over no LS.

my thoughts
LT1 is 300 hp but with heads/cam/seals done that thing is probably superb and much more than stock 300
stock ls1 is 350 and besides unless you have an AOR transaxle you should stop at 400hp and not go further unless your doing some crazy treated internals and other crazy mods to keep transaxle from imploding.
iron block is 280lbs heavier, vs. the aluminum. overall i'd say that's a meh point and not worth losing your mind over.
if you've had that many turbo cars this is going to only further impress as now you'll have the great low torque instead of waiting for that late 80's spool.
car looks stellar and probably sounds and drives amazing.
there'd be more to consider if it was also first 944 stepping into, but i'm quite sure you'll know what to do when you see/drive for yourself how much it makes sense.

i think its a great unit just from pics and background of build
title says it all but if its the scottsdale airzona car from turner, i don't know it personally but if i was hunting i would totally look it up.
only one i would pass that up for was a guy that was somewhat recently a 944 turbo rose with ls. what a crazy rare model to then convert, that thing would have been the penultimate swap but also probably a crime to some purists lol.
my internet handle originates from one of my fave industrial metal songs from a collaboration of artists back in the 90's on a project call Argyle Park.
not everyone's cup of tea but i have loved the song for like 30 some years and the entire album actually. the main guy who did that album has a most recent album other his other band name called circle of dust under the title machines of disgrace. if you like heavier music its a great album.
some of his previous stuff is more known under the name celldweller with his most popular track called switchback.
but on a side note the movie the wraith is an absolute classic. so good. cheers!
hope the car getting checked out goes well, guessing your tied up with work and can't get to it to see it yourself but car looks super clean under the hood.

The weight difference between the two is around 80 or 90lbs. Not 280lbs
I've got an lt1 and it's very fun.

Awesome!
thanks for correcting my google of difference between LT1 and LS1!
that's nothing! the heads/cam on the car in question will more than make up for the additional weight with tonnes of giggles.
Hope OP gets the car.
Always great to hear when a conversion gets to live on and be enjoyed by another!
