For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

Missing Charging Cable Fusible Link
Hi Folks,
One of the awesome things about this forum is... the more you read it, the more you learn. Sometimes reading a post the second (or third) time reveals a bit of information you were not originally searching for.
Just today this happened as I was doing some advanced searches relative to the charging system of my LS swap.
In the process, I discovered a crucial consideration….
The alternator charging cable should have a FUSIBLE LINK to protect the electrical system components from output surges. I totally missed that!!
So now I’m looking to splice a fusible link in my new AWG#4 alternator charging cable somewhere between my 160 AMP AC Delco alternator and the battery. Below is an InstallGear 150 AMP fusible link that I believe will do the job.
< InstallGear 0/2/4 Gauge 150mAmp Fuse Holder>
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CT4ZJHS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A130UJC6EIIOR0&th=1
As always, I’m interested in suggestions or recommendations from those of you that have already resolved this issue.
Thanks for any input!
