HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Turrrrrbooooo
Anyone seen Bob (turbobob)? This section is screaming his name. Someone should uh....let him know where we all went.
Besides that, to make this post actually useful, a great site is junkyardturbos.com.

I'll have to send him an e-mail. I talked to him about two months ago.

I believe "johnnyjohnny" is attempting dual turbos on his conversion as well. Would like to see the progress there as well!

I sent an e-mail to Bob> he replied and said that he has been busy with his GN project so he hasn't been to the old board lately. He said he would check the new boards.

Hello Everyone
Hi Guys,
Im here....
Thanks for setting up this area for me at least in the beginning.
If you want me to moderate I can.
Longtime no talk to all. Updates on my beast....
The built 4.1 is just too much for the porsche frame and transaxle!
I have swapped out the "built" motor and put it in my Grand National. I'm doing a basic rebuild on the stock 3.8 V6 and going to put it in the porsche.
Hopefully I can go with a softer clutch too!
Plus I have a new custom harness to install. All that underhood heat starting causing some goofy sensor readings. Like.. my last dyno run last year showed I topped out at 14,000 RPM! The motor would have grenaded well before that! LOL.

Yep, rebuiliding the "stock" GN 3.8 motor and putting high flow heads and intake on it.
The built 4.1 is in the GN now. IT can use all that 500 plus ft lbs of torque better!
Im hoping for just under 450 HP for the 3.8! LOL Yeh its "stock" thats the ticket!

Re: Turrrrrbooooo
Do have any info that could be helpful to use LT1 guy's that might want to install a turbo on ours?
Re: Turrrrrbooooo
Well, maybe.
As it relates to general turbo tech yes.
There is no room in the engine compartment with the V8 in there.
You would need to do like the squires turbo setup, turbo in the back where the muffler is!

Re: Turrrrrbooooo
That is what I was thinking about, I would like to piece it together out of stock parts from the local re cycler.... I have heard of a lot of Mustang guys doing this. I just do not know what size and flow I would need for a 383 LT1.
Re: Turrrrrbooooo
Question... can a built and boosted 4.3 mated to the stock tranny last? I don't want to put in all the wrench time if we are going to destroy the tranny from the jump. It is going to be a drift car. Torque is a must.

I know I'm bringing back the dead by posting in an old thread but why make a new one when one exsists right?

Re: Turrrrrbooooo
well it depends.
Some turbo lag is good in this case to keep the trans alive.
How much power are you looking for?
Assuming you dont do hard burnouts, the trans should be Ok up to 400 ft lbs of torque.
