Don't know what this is Red plug

Can somebody tell me  what the red plug behind the glove Box It is

From the red plug what does the block and greenwire connect to to make the tack work

Tach output wire on the ecu

I only have one white wire coming from the pcm

Tack still does not work

I know some ecus need to be tuned to put out a 4cyl signal,

Where was that plug located? And what wire did you use in the ecu? Did you look at your specific ecu pinout?

The plug was behind the glove Box and I used the white wire designated for the tack from the wiring harness

I remember that plug being in the passenger side footwell

I put a 12 V wire with a resistor to the tackwire wire and now it works.

I can't get my temperature sending unit to register it goes all the way to the top and then as soon as you start the car it bottoms out does anybody have any ideas

I would check your wiring. Sounds like you may be shorted to ground. Low resistance will peg the the gauge hot. High resistance will peg it cold. The temp sender is basically a variable resistance potentiometer.
My cars temp gauge did not swing at all after installing a vdo sender. Took out the cluster and cleaned all the contacts with an eraser. That fixed it. Might want to try that as well. While you have it out, you can also use a small 12v battery to test the gauges function by using alligator clips on the proper contacts. You can trace the contacts back from looking at the circuit board routing.
