HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hey guys,

After 3 years of working on my LSA swapped 944, I was very near completion and was taking it out for a test drive today to ensure everything was in order. It has just rained a bit and the roads were a little slick. As I was driving down the street, a woman pulled out in front of me. I swerved to miss, tires broke loose and spun me into a pole. See pic below.

So, on to the next project. My 01E trans, LSA engine, various add-ons are all mostly still good so I will remove those and transfer them onto the next car. Not sure if I will do another 944 swap though, they are getting a little pricey these days but I am on the look out for a good one at a decent price. I was very near completion having just installed the Vintage Exotics headlights and CRASH!! I had the 01E 6-speed shifting flawlessly, just purchased new 18" rims to put more rubber on it, and completed the new custom cowl hood to fit snuggly over the supercharger. All I can say is it happens! I'll keep checking back on this site periodically so see all the new LS swapped 944s out on the road but it saddens me to say that one will never see the road again. Be careful out there guys. Take care.

That sucks, sorry to hear that. What are you doing with the 01e now? That might be something I would be interested in. If you want to get rid of it pm me

Sorry to hear that. Glad you are ok.
theres a 85.5 944 here in El paso TX. just a shell, rig. trans and torque tube, paint really faded. no dings nor dents.
maybe you can transfer all your stuff onto this one.
I am planning on getting another one but i have to finish this one first.
really glad you're ok, be safe.

Sorry to hear about that! Your 01E swap was the inspiration that got me to stick an 01E in my car, which I have since sold.

That is a bummer for sure. I'm sure the next project will be just as good if not better!

Totalled 1985.5 Porsche 944 Empty so so sorry to see this

Nearly did the same thing years ago as my car was completed. Turns out my soft grippy tires got old and rock hard while doing the conversion. First time out was like oil on a water slick. After my slip-and-slide experience i immediately replaced the tires and got my good handling back.

Yep, the tires. I already had a new set of rims and tires ready to put on but decided to wait. Don't know why I did that. Lessons learned I guess.

Wow, that is rotten luck. Looks like you really gave that pole a thump.. Glad you're OK, and hope you can grab another vehicle and transfer all the goodies.
