HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Around the block
Took my first drive to the gas station. First fill up. I wish I had someone to video. The car is loud as I am driving with open headers. Trying to figure out the exhaust now. Not sure if I want to tie in to factory single exhaust or run 2.5 true duals.
It's definitely in need of a tune.

It's nice to be able to drive your new build. Looks good.
I have built a few of these and I find the single exhaust is much easier to fit in the car. It will make just as much power if you use 3" exhaust all the way from the headers. One of the simplest ways to do it, is buy a 3" catback system from Lindsey Racing. Already fits the car. Then all you need is a Y pipe setup from the headers to the Lindsey stuff. And, yes you can also tie it into the stock exhaust. Won't make quite as much power, but depending on your engine, it may not choke it down at all.

Nice looking car! The first drive is always fun!
I used a Y pipe from vibrant (dual 3" to single 3.5") for my exhaust.. its still quite loud..

Thanks...
I think I am going to go with dual 2.5s all the way back. I do think the catback off the shelf would have been easier.

I have one here with dual 2.5" and fits poorly. doesn't fit up in the tunnel like the single 3" does

Re: Around the block
I too wanted to do the dual 2.5inch originally.. until I did some measuring in the tunnel and at the rear axle.. I decided to go single 3.5inch for fitment and I didn't want my exhaust to hinder the performance. Looking back I wish I just went with a single 3inch exhaust as it would have given me a lot of muffler options and possibly kept the car quieter for steet use...
Either way I'd love to see what you choose.
My LS3, LS hot cam, Kooks headers, 3.5inch exhaust dynoed 430rwhp 428lb/ft..

Re: Around the block
I had dual 2.5" and it fit, but not all that well. A single 3" will definitely fit better.

Re: Around the block
It's on the rack. Time for my new exhaust. I ended up choosing to do 2.5 true dual to the back because I have the manifolds made by TPC which have already the 2.5 diamete. It looks like it will be a tight fit.

The exhaust is coming along. I went with 2.5 to the back. I wanted to add the glass packs to quiet it a little more.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
