For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

What goes first in the rear??
Hello! I was just wondering, I hear a lot about the back end not being able to handle the LS power. I was just wanting to know what exactly breaks back there?

Not as far as I know, but my LS1 is fairly stock at 325HP/325T.
Maybe higher HP examples or people who are harder on their cars have differing experiences.

vasaline?...
But seriously, I've heard that too but my experience has been different. The original 944 trans did just fine with my 400hp LS1. I swapped it out for a turbo trans with LSD and it's been fine too. I drive my car hard on the track but do my best to avoid hard launches and wheel spin.

I think the ring and pinion is the weak point in the NA transmissions. I've heard people break those even with the NA 944 engine on a hard launch.
