SOLD 1988 Porsche 948 with C5 Corvette LS1 conversion
1988 Porsche 944/948 with C5 Corvette LS1 V8 Ebay 282042444612
Guards red with black interior, replaced front seats in 2013 with professionally covered items. New factory windshield in 2012, has embedded antenna, old one cracked.
Driven by me from California to Florida, Odomoter was approx 150,000 miles.
From front to rear:
IFC Racing fiberglass nose, chin panel has cooling holes, all grilles are black powder coated
Griffin aluminum racing radiator. Porsche/Corvette nose badge, 948 rear badge.
Rectangular Headlights, Lower spotlights.
Front suspension re-built with Koni shocks. Lower A arms replaced with reinforced steel arms with easily replaced ball joints. Lowered front springs, sway bar braces. (Removed aluminum arms included.) Cross member lowered 1” for engine/hood clearance. Xschop bump steer conversion blocks.
C5 Corvette LS1 with F body accessories, Turn One Power steering pump, Mustang Hydraboost, new water header tank. Air Conditioning. Jet hot RH coated headers. Dual magnaflow exhaust. Computer and wiring harness modified , security and non essential items removed from computer. Metal heater H valve. Throttle body is cable style. Truck coils with longer plug leads.
Power steering, Xschop lengthened steering shaft with Borgesson joints.
Torque tube rebuilt by Constantine with all new bearings
951 Transaxle with LSD and short 5th gear. Short shifter, Xschop up rated drive shafts with new CV joints. New Koni shocks. Spare wheel well modified during 5th gear change to gain in car access to gearbox.
Uprated Fuel Pump
Brakes upgraded as per Xschop advice, front are Boxster S Rotors with Lexus 430 calipera, rear are 951 Turbo rotors with Mazda calipers. Momo Steering Wheel. Porsche 968 side mirrors.
Original front and rear bumpers removed, rear has a IFC racing lower cover.
Porsche cup 2 wheels painted silver in 2013, new tires all round. Roof works OK.
Receipts for all purchases.
Selling price $10,000
Downside:
Clutch has a vibration, used a RH clutch plate which really need to be changed for a Spec plate with a proper Porsche spline. A.C. Has a leak, can’t find it, maybe under the dash. Top of dash has cracks but a new dash cap is included, not had time to fix it. Dent in rear where I reversed into a post. A new rear deck carpet would look good. Over 15k spent on this project. Photographed at every stage of conversion. All photographs provided on a DVD.
