For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

First porsche purchase and slow moving swap
First off this is my first post on here so "hello" to everyone. Little about me, I'm Chris from shawnee, oklahoma. I have a beautiful wife, a son, and one on the way. I manage an Oreilly auto parts store in chandler, ok. Anyways long story short I have been an ls fan and a porsche fan since I was a little kid. I've had plenty of fox bodies, different mustangs, a few ls swapped ones, firebird, a gto, and most recently an 06 vette. We'll the vette I had for about a week when we found out she was pregnant so I decided to trade it in on another crew cab truck. So I got to looking around and discover this swap. And we'll that's were we are now. I picked up an 85.5 944 Saturday the 8th. Little crusty seeing how it's been sitting since 2010 in claremore ok. Got it home and started sanding on it and plan to prime the roof and hood this week. Then on to doors, fender, and rear quarters. The plan is to have a reliable toy with a 5.3 while building an ls3 headed stroker. Going back with the factory silver paint. The factory recaros need recovered or replaced. Eventually I'd like to take a trip on the Texas mile with it some year.

Almost done with passenger side, and got the 911 wheels and run flats on. I still need spacers for the rear for sure.

Hi Chris, I live in Oklahoma City. I am also mid-swap. I'm building an aluminum 5.7. Unfortunately, my project is on the back burner because of house work. I'm excited to see how your project goes. Maybe I'll see it in person some day

No, I have not posted a thread yet. I will as soon as I start prepping the engine bay and building the engine. Probably this summer. Still have to finish living room, dining room, and 2 bathrooms :O
