HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Not even out of the first page before the purist haters started chiming in, not surprising.

Re: V12 6-speed hybrid begins
nice one..
If some one wants to modd his car so what, I am happy to see different mods being made and shared, as we all learn from them.
I think there is plenty of original Porsches to go around so people should not be to "concerned" about someone else doing that to their car...and in the end, it will increase the value of the original ones, so actually any modder is doing the owners of those originals a favor.
That v12 might be nose heavy?

Re: V12 6-speed hybrid begins
The V12 is a 5.0 all alloy with magnesium valve covers. Comes right in at 20lbs heavier than the LS1. The Porsche V8 is 120lbs heavier than the LS1.
Dins is wanting 55mm throttle bodies, so Civic TBs will fit the bill.
Can you think of LS1 torque at 1200rpm?

We're fine tuning the Megasquirt. Seems to be a miss on 3-9 shared coil we're working on. About to do
a road test with this beast....

Re: V12 6-speed hybrid begins
OK. We found the 3-9 shared coil issue (loose connection at coil drivers). Then we set AFR to each set of 6-Banks at 13.8..... This thing is wicked...

Re: V12 6-speed hybrid begins
care to explain how the vette trans fits so well on the STOCK LOOKING factory 928 crossmember?
also how the stock exhaust/tailpipe fits around it all.
LOVE IT!!

Re: V12 6-speed hybrid begins
I gave it the Xschop treatment.
Actually that is a 1-off assembly incorporating the factory control arms and a rubber trans mount from bottom.
I redesigned a dual-poly bushing mount to bolt right on and allows trans to drop out quickly for clutch changes. It still uses factory tansmember modded.
That'll go into the next 6-speed build.
The factory exhaust stays put. Bonus

Re: V12 6-speed hybrid begins
This particular hybrid is Dinsdale's and we worked all the kinks out of it. Im sure he's the only one on the planet that has correctly got all the original engine design options working in a conversion. Full sequential injection and ignition, and now has the VVTi working with MS3 pro.
I will be building Enigma #2 for myself.I've researched the Mercedes V12 Bi-turbo and it is an option as there is a detachable bellhousing from the 722.6 trans that can use an adapter plate, but I have another 1GZ on its way from Japan:D

LS1 torque right off idle and you can balance a Nickle on the plenum.

More Lost-foam technique from Dins....
putting the final touches to the dual throttle Cold-air intake. It will clear a strut brace....

Using foam as a mold structure, laying fiberglass over it then using a solvent to remove the foam....its like investment casting. Very common in racing, brakes ducts etc.

Re: V12 6-speed hybrid begins
I did it myself on a few custom motorbike parts. You melt the foam with acetone after the resin has cured fully.
This would definitely be a great way to get an air splitter thru the two areas over the 944 radiator bridge without hacking it up.

Re: V12 6-speed hybrid begins
Thanks for the props. We will start Enigma 2 soon. Many miles on the Enigma now. A lot of data logging for the ultra tunability of Megasquirt 3. The real delight other than the LS1-eating torque, is watching all the Lambo and $200k car owners gawking while at the Texas mile.
