HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hi Guys,

It has been several years since I have been on here. I hope everyone is doing good. My 1988 944 conversion has been sitting in my garage for almost 2 years and is looking for a new home! I'll give the highlights, add a few pics and give some contact info.

I bought it in 2005 with the engine already installed from a board member in So. Cal that went by the name of sour grape. It is totally rust free and has Ca. CARB certification with the sticker on the door jamb. I moved it from So.Cal to Daytona Beach in 2008 and drove it daily for a couple years. When I bought it, it had Big Red brakes, 18" turbo twists, konis, proper torsion bars, turbo gearbox.

I have added; big radiator from Renagade, shorty headers from renegade, trick flow heads ported by Advanced Induction, Comp Cam, Turn One Power Steering Pump with Porsche power rack, Electric Power Brakes by ABS, A/C, Corbeau seats, Sparco steering wheel, short throw shifter, N/A fifth gear, rebuilt torque tube, Deutch 9 headlight conversion, new battery, oil pressure and water temp gauges (autometer) and more I'm sure.

Things I would fix if I were to keep it; horn tab under steering wheel broken, headlight conversion needs tidying up, wiper motor needs pulled and cleaned- I've done it twice but sitting in Fl. is tough on it. Otherwise ready to rock. Lots of spares.

This car is silver and shows really well. People stop me everywhere I drive it. It's not as quick as my LS6 Miata but will run with most new stuff out there! I'm looking for $12K obo. I really need the room. Anyone can pm me here or drop me a line at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and I can answer questions and send photos. Thanks for looking.

Just went up on Craig's list like this,I have tons of pictures for anyone interested. Just PM me. Very clean car.

1988 Porsche 944 w/1995 LT-1 (400hp)

Chassis;
• “Big Red” turbo brakes with new front rotors and pads all around
• American Brake System electric power brakes
• Yellow Koni shocks
• Porsche performance torsion bars
• Adjustable sway bars front and rear
• 18” “Turbo Twist” wheels 9 in. front/10 inch rear
• Goodyear F1 tires 245/40-18 front/ 265/35-18 rear- 70% tread
Interior;
• Corbeau Seats
• Sparco steering wheel
• Autometer shift light
• Sony head unit with ( old and crappy) Alpine speakers
• Horn needs fixing behind steering wheel
• Schnell short shifter
Body;
• 924S open headlights- they could use some additional work but function fine
• NO RUST- anywhere
• Wiper motor needs good cleaning- intermittent
• Overall Very Good Condition- looks great
Engine;
• Renegade Hybrids conversion kit; cross member, motor mounts, bell housing
• Fresh clutch
• 1995 LT1 “P” code = F body
• Trick Flow heads ported by Advanced Induction
• Comp Cam specified by AI (roughly .565 lift/ 22x duration/ 114 LSA)
• ECU tuning by C.A.M.- could still use a little refining but 98%
• Renegades Hybrid radiator- always runs cool
• Renegades Hybrid headers with custom (2) 2 ½ to single 3” muffler- sneaky quiet
• Cruise control
• A/C
• Power steering- Turn One pump and Porsche rack
• California Smog Legal- has B.A.R. sticker on door jamb- removed cat, egr, and evap but have all the parts. No smog in Florida
• 944 Turbo transaxle with n/a 5th gear for deeper overdrive- 23 to 24 mpg at 75mph
I built this car when I lived in California. It was my toy and daily driver for a couple years. I moved to Florida in 2008 and drove it off and on for a couple years. I have since moved on to other projects and this poor car is just sitting in the garage. It needs an enthusiast that likes to tinker. It is a 98% car but there is always something to improve or play with. My performance target when I built it was the 2002 Z06 and it will outperform one of those. It is very quick and very fast. I have tons of receipts and lots of spares as well as the cable to talk to the ECU.
No tire kickers and no joy riders. Seriously there is over $30 k in this car. I will take $10k. The right buyer might be able to work a little better deal. Not much though! I prefer to start with email. Spam and jerks will be dismissed out of hand. I have tons of pictures and can take more for the right buyer. Thanks.

Thanks. I priced it for a quick sale and it worked. I'll lurk and make sure you guys are behaving. My latest conversion now that I'm a Florida boy, I'm playing with Miata LS6 stuff. Top down and all you know!! The LS6 takes the ghey right out of the Miata!!
