HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hey all,

I've been reading a lot over here on the LS1 side, and it looks like the consensus is to run a C5 2 piece bellhousing with a stock LS1 clutch, am I correct?

Well, here's my real question: I currently have an LT1 in my 944, when I did the swap I picked up a RH bellhousing kit for it off of EvilBay for pretty cheap. I refinished the pressure plate and flywheel, and put a new clutch disk in it, I also put a roller bearing pilot in it (NOT RH's needle bearing crap!)

That was a few years ago, now I'm considering picking up an LS1, I've found one local for cheap and its in good shape, the question is can I use my LT1 bellhousing and clutch assembly on the back of an LS1? Will it bolt up and work? Or do I need to replace my entire clutch assembly to put the LS1 in?

I'm sure I'll have more questions as I consider other elements of this, but for now that's it, thanks guys!

Follow up question.

If the LT1 bellhousing and clutch stuff i have will not work at all, then what is the cheapest way to build a clutch for this thing? I found the 2 piece bellhousing on GMPD, not a bad price at 180ish. Would it be cheaper/easier to use Eric's setup that includes an adapter plate?

Thanks

Ya I would love the answer to this too. I got a similar setup but I have a QTBH.
Would be awesome if I could keep my stock clutch setup.
